A church on the move

HOW TO MOVE A 100 YEAR OLD CHURCH..

You’ve gotta watch this and tell me how it applies to transitioning churches today…

On this day...

  • By Jove I have it. Verily I say unto thee. If the foundation of thine Church is solid, it will move among you freely, and stand anywhere for all time.

  • very optimistic take by jason. i guess i’m either too jaded these days, or i just dont need to be up commenting on things at 3:00 a.m…. watching the lyrics scroll by, i noticed on about the third viewing that the “church” (building) had been abandoned, and they were “saving” it. i’d bet besides the great inconvenience and danger moving that thing posed to the community, it probably cost as much or more than building a new one. this clip reminded me of churches that are willing to cling to to the past at any and all costs, rather than try to let God do a “new thing.” reminded me more of a funeral procession than a transition.

  • Ooooo. Both comments so far are good. Dean, I’ve also discovered that my mood drastically impacts my commenting (for what it’s worth).

  • jeff, are you implying that i’m cranky? :-)
