There has to be a lot of excitement in Wasilla right now. I know Mike and Kristy and the girls will be so glad to see you guys. And I am sure Sarah will be glad to meet her new running mate. If you get to meet her, I won't be too jealous if you will put in a word for me as Secretary of State.

Alaska is a beautiful, majestic place and you will see God everywhere you look. Be sure and take a look out the plane window as you get close. The snow covered mountain peaks will take your breath away.

Your article brought tears to my eyes as I relived the first months that they were gone. So very difficult for me to let them go. And still very difficult as I wish for more daily contact with them. But I am proud of them. And if they stay, it is now just a bit over 3 years and I will hopefully be retired and can have longggg visits! God bless your family and my family as you visit.

holy moly, jeff, please quit referring to us as missionaries. every time i hear that i cringe, really. we're so ordinary, living our same lives (relatively) transplanted into a new location. . . we have definitely been given, and given, and given way more than WE have ever given. we pray for the day that it will be a more "vocational" full time thing and in the meantime are enjoying serving the small amount of time possible with mike at the station while working a normal secular job and building a circle of influence through real time, real life relationships... thanks for the walk down memory lane! you and caro have never failed to be our biggest encouragers, as is our entire journey family!

I am so excited for you all! I know how thrilled you are to see them, and i can only imagine what a comfort it will be for them to have such loved ones with them while they are so far away. I can't wait to see pics and read about what you're doing! (If you make it in with Sarah.. drop my name, will ya?)
