Extreme Homemakeover introduces materialism?

Punkisrael is back. David was one of the very first bloggers I began following two years ago, and he stopped for a while. I was disappointed. However, in the last several weeks, he’s been posting again, much to my delight, and he asks some provocative questions about the ABC show Extreme Makeover Home Edition in this entry. What think ye?

Don’t get chilled by global warming myths

Compelling scientific research continually shows that the hype over global warming may be just that. And political postering. A great article at the Chicago Sun-Times calls on Al Gore to apologize for his film An Inconvenient Truth which is so riddled with scientific error that it should be run as a half-baked political cartoon rather than pose as a documentary.

Many of the assertions Gore makes in his movie, ”An Inconvenient Truth,” have been refuted by science, both before and after he made them. Gore can show sincerity in his plea for scientific honesty by publicly acknowledging where science has rebutted his claims.

iPhone exceeds even best expectations

In an indepth review, Amtech analyst Shaw Wu said…

“We estimate sales of about 250,000 units in two days (up from our previous view of 50,000). The previous fastest seller was iPod nano, which sold about 1 million units in about 17 days meaning, about 59,000 units per day.”

From a “big picture” standpoint, Wu said iPhone represents the start of a potential revolution in both PC and mobile electronics industries, given his view that the device is not just a classic old school product in that “it is landscape changing, being the first true convergence device that combines the best media player (widescreen video iPod), a near full-function web browser (Safari), e-mail/contacts/calendar, and a cellular phone.”

Like I said earlier… I am NOT disappointed. I feel like Captain Kirk.
