I live in one in SC, USA we recently got the greatest offer for growth and advancement our littl town has ever been offered---several years ago our town built an industrial tract of land (couple 100 acres)and advertized for industry to develop there--no fish bit for all those yrs till---an ethanal plant wants to build a state of the art facil. there,and has offered great benefits to the community--(250mil $$ worth of facil.)OK---thats more than our little town of Batesburg-Leesville can dream of in develop--And now the leading fathers and mothers of the area are saying NO NO, it,ll never happen it,ll spoil our small town "small town atmosphere,whatever"--the $$$ and all the other benefits,hang it all ,they,ll fight it!!!--whatever happened to love thy neighbor? lift them up so that one hand washes the other...I love my hometown but in galls me so to see it stifled in such a way..I,ve watched it sit stagnant all my nearly 60s yrs..just waiting for that boom that never comes... small towns !
