Jim over at Church Tech Matters offers a sensitive counterview to Tim’s post about homeschooling that I had linked earlier. It’s a great read.

thanks, jeff, for offering this link. i read the other link (the anti-homeschooling) but never made it to the anti-public school one - just didn’t care enough to read the craziness. i do appreciate you linking somebody who is middle of the road. this is where we stand. it’s divisive if we use it to divide. i’m doing what i feel convicted to do right now, for this child, this year. i love that others are doing what they feel convicted to do. i just believe no matter which way it should be well-thought out. and we should support each other, learn from each other, and love each other’s differences. mandy and i talk happily all the time about the differences in our choices. thanks again for linking to one of us middle of the roaders, man.

Suz, my pleasure! I think the most important thing in the whole issue (and any similar issue) is simply love and humility. We are all turned off by those who claim their way is the only way when this issue is so much a part of a family’s calling, gift mix and passion - from both perspectives.
I have deep respect for so many homeschooling parents like you guys and others that intentionally, thoughtfully, and joyfully enter into the process and at the same time can still see benefits and blessings in our public schools.
Our family has chosen the public school route as strategically, thoughtfully and prayerfully as some who might send their kids to a “Christian school.”
It’s a matter of grace for us all to allow each other the joy of pursuing what we sense the Lord calling us to do.
Thanks for your comment! I didn’t know you still knew where my blog was! ;)
