How to encourage a blogger

Tim Challies has a great entry about how to encourage a blogger. Here are his points;

  • Leave a Comment.
  • Send a Note of Encouragement.
  • Pray for Them.
  • Tell Someone Else About the Site.
  • Shop at Amazon Through an Affiliate Link.
  • Look for Amazon Wishlists.

I think commenting is one of the highest forms of encouragement. Of course, I’ll always take a book or a java too.

On this day...

    Commenting is great but it does not increase traffic by any means…LOL.I comment on around 45 blogs-not all of them local and my average commenting number is 6.
    But I love those 6 dearly!!!!

    I love that list. The one that really stood out to me was the prayer. That is a real encouragement to anyone. I think that would be a great tool for spiritual growth for yourself as well, sit down and pray for your regular readers and the authors you regularly read.

    i just read the post below – you just HAD to bring up dermott didn’t you?!? i thought i’d wiped that experience from my mind. ๐Ÿ™‚
    how’s that for encouragement? haha

    comments are probably the thing i look forward to the most so far as blogging is concerned. i even have a few people that email rather than post their comments on the blog itself. maybe they feel the shame and humiliation of being publicly associated with me and my writings isnt worth coming out of the woodwork for ๐Ÿ™‚ i also have my blog linked to my facebook page, and get some comments there that dont show up on the blog itself.

    also, i have stat counter, a pretty nifty little traffic tracker that tells me all about my lurkers, too! so i’m never really all that lonely even when i dont get comments ๐Ÿ™‚
