I am confused about the idea that abortion is the judgement for abortion or that gay marriage is the judgement for gay marriage. Sodom and Gamorrah?

I don’t think he was saying that these things were the judgement for themselves, but rather these things and their preponderance were part of the judgement of God on a culture that has rejected Him. In Romans 1, it teaches that the Lord will essentially release people to pursue their fill of sin and as a result experience the direct consequences of that – abortion and the promotion of a perverted sexuality are part of that.

“For this reason, God gave them up in the lusts of their hearts to impurity, to the dishonoring of their bodies among themselves, because they exchanged the truth about God for a lie and worshiped and served the creature rather than the Creator…” (Romans 1.24)
