Man Jeff....that was beautiful. You brought a tear to me eye.... :-) I know we don't tell you near enough but you mean a great deal to me and to Doug. We do love you and I hope you know what a blessing you are to Journey.

As a pastor of a start-up church, I too have been overly careful about being perceived as "sheep stealing." As more people have come to our church I've realized that these people are not "ours" now and they weren't "theirs" back then. Nor are they sheep to me at my level of participation in the process. They are all GOD's sheep, and to me they are friends that I'm trying to help and encourage in their faith (I know that "pastor" and "shepherd" are similar concepts, but I think we've gone too far in the "hired-hand" shepherd direction). This healthier view has helped me not to be afraid of people coming from other churches, and it helps in my view of people who want to continue being Catholic as they come to our church or Bible studies.

I have visited Journey only a few times, mainly because we live in Little Rock. I would love to be there every Sunday, not only because I love to hear my son teach God's Word, but because I see an innovative approach to living the authentic Christian life - not the "same old, same old" which we "seniors" have settled into. I have been deeply impressed by the servant attitude and the "realness" of its people. Your concern for each other and for your community is obvious. You are all in my prayers daily. Galatians 6:9 is my hope and prayer for all of you as you seek to follow Christ in a fresh and bold way.

I am a "Newby" visiting Journey Church and I have found it to be refreshing. I especially like the way this wonderful young pastor includes the people in the service. Reading scripture etc. I feel an atmosphere of Christ-like love and see joy on each face. Again I use the word refreshing!
Thank You.
