It is so true that we as parents need to take ownership of this. Great post!

lol Memories....

Since my children are all so young right now, this is something I think about almost daily. It's always amazing to me how much people stress over certain things with their children... "am I doing 'this' right?" I have really learned over the past few years that what you do with YOURSELF is a far greater predictor of what your children will choose to do with themselves than any rules and regulations you have in place within your home. Just this morning Carter yelled at me probably 3 times (he's so three right now...) and in my frustration over him yelling and Sam crying I yelled back "Do NOT yell at me!" Ah yes.. such a good role model I am! Ah well.. we all falter here and there... back to my good role model pedestal I must go!

The really "on fire" singers would add a big "Praise God" after that's how it is with God's love. I remember thinking that was so radical.
You are quite right, we need to teach our children well and live our lives in a way that models the love of Christ. I can tell you that the days of having small children and great influence are shorter than you think . . . gone in a minute. Teach them all the good stuff, feed them all the good stuff, show them all the good stuff and pray for them - all the good stuff.
Thanks for the reminder.
