KT, at some point, you need to reconsider your choice of friends. If I'm reading you right, this person is a "take-take" person. I think we're called to love and give them the best that we can of ourselves, but I don't think that means that we have to pursue a deep relationship with them to our detriment.

At some point, we have to assess our relationships with folks and pour our hearts and time into those that are bearing fruit.

I try my best to give all of those things as much as possible.I cannot help but think of the negative things that have come from that.....I have had one friend who will absolutely ask me over and over just to ignore my family in favor of what she needs, nonetheless,I oblige as much as possible. It is definitely a balance. And yet it continues to be positive experiences for me.Would I want her to constantly put me before her family?NEVER.
